We use two methods, sometimes together. The choice depends on whether activity is inside or outside and where sow bugs are entering: the foundation, crawl space, basement or landscaping.
Chemical Spray Treatment
A residual spray goes where sow bugs are active, entering or hiding: foundation walls, door and window frames, vents, utility openings and, where needed, interior cracks and baseboards. Outside, it forms a treated barrier around the building.
Best for: Most sow bug problems around homes and buildings, inside or outside.
Fogging Treatment
Fogging reaches enclosed or hard-to-treat spaces such as crawl spaces, unfinished basements and utility areas where sow bugs gather in larger numbers. It reduces exposed sow bugs in that area but does not replace moisture correction or sealing.
Best for: Heavy activity in crawl spaces, unfinished basements or other enclosed areas.

Why Sow Bugs Keep Coming Back
Sow bugs do not bite or eat healthy plants. The concern is what they signal: damp soil, poor drainage, leaking gutters or a wet crawl space next to your foundation. Those same conditions can lead to mould and wood rot. Treatment lowers the numbers, but fixing the moisture is what keeps them out.

How do you treat for sow bugs?
Indoors, we use residual sprays and dusts along baseboards, cracks and entry points. Outdoors, a perimeter spray around the foundation reduces breeding sites and entry. In crawl spaces or unfinished basements with heavy activity, fogging may be added. We also point out moisture fixes.
What is the difference between sow bugs and pill bugs?
They look almost the same and live in the same damp places. Pill bugs roll into a tight ball when disturbed. Sow bugs only curl slightly and have two small tail-like points at the back. Our treatment approach is the same for both.
Why do I see so many sow bugs after rain?
Heavy rain and snowmelt soak the soil and push sow bugs out of the ground. If there is moisture near your foundation, they move toward the house looking for more damp cover. Improving drainage is the lasting fix.
Is the treatment safe for pets and children?
