How to tell if cockroaches have moved in

Cockroaches hide in tight, warm spaces and come out mostly at night. One sighting usually means more are hiding nearby. Watch for these signs in kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas.

Roaches in kitchens or bathrooms

Live cockroaches near sinks, drains, cabinets or food storage. These rooms offer the water and warmth they need.

Activity when lights come on

Roaches scatter when you turn on a light at night. Daytime sightings often point to a larger, crowded population.

Droppings in drawers and cabinets

Small dark specks that look like coffee grounds or pepper, often in drawers, cabinets and under sinks.

Activity behind appliances

Roaches, droppings or egg cases behind fridges, stoves and dishwashers, where motors give off heat.

Store-bought sprays not working

Repeated sightings after using retail sprays. Surface products rarely reach the nest behind walls and cabinets.

Roaches in more than one room

Sightings in bedrooms, living areas or hallways suggest the infestation has spread beyond the kitchen.
How we treat it

Two treatment methods, often used together

Surface sprays alone rarely solve a cockroach problem. The main infestation usually sits behind walls, inside cabinets and under appliances. We treat the roaches you can see and the nest you cannot.

Bait and dust method

Bait is placed in kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets and under sinks. Roaches feed and carry it back to their hiding spots. A professional dust goes into chosen wall voids and nesting spots. Together they reduce visible roaches and the hidden source.

Best for: Established infestations with hidden activity in kitchens, bathrooms and wall voids

Chemical flush treatment

Used for heavy infestations with a lot of visible activity. A fine mist (ULV treatment) is applied in the worst areas to drive roaches out of hiding and cut numbers fast. Bait and dust usually come next to deal with the rest of the nest.

Best for: Severe infestations that need fast knockdown before longer-term control

What to expect

What to expect from first call to follow-up

Contact us

Call or email. We ask where you are seeing roaches, how long it has been going on and what has been tried. We also work with landlords and property managers.

Estimate and plan

You get a quote based on your situation and the level of infestation. We explain which method fits, what prep is needed and what to expect afterward.

Inspection on site

The technician finds where activity is concentrated: under sinks, behind appliances, inside cabinets and in wall voids. This decides where bait and dust go.

Treatment

Bait is placed in active zones and dust is injected into hidden nesting spots. Heavy infestations may get a flush treatment first. We use unmarked vehicles.

Follow-up as needed

Roach numbers should decline over time as the products keep working. Follow-up visits depend on severity. Good sanitation between visits improves results.
Why it matters

Why cockroaches need a professional plan

Most of a cockroach infestation is hidden. Killing the roaches in view does little, because the rest keep breeding in cracks, wall voids and hidden nesting spots. Roaches spread bacteria onto food and surfaces, and their droppings and shed skins can trigger allergies and asthma.

How to keep cockroaches out

Remove food and water

Wipe counters dry, store food in sealed containers and fix leaking pipes. Roaches need very little to survive.

Seal cracks and gaps

Caulk openings around pipes, baseboards and cabinets. In multi-unit buildings, this slows movement between suites.

Clean under and behind appliances

Vacuum and wipe behind the fridge, stove and dishwasher regularly. Grease and crumbs collect there unseen.

Check what comes inside

Inspect grocery bags, cardboard boxes and used appliances before bringing them in. Roaches often travel this way.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What does a cockroach treatment involve?

Our main tools are gel baits, dusts and residual sprays placed where roaches live and travel. For heavy activity we can also treat wall voids or use a flushing treatment. We often suggest a follow-up visit to confirm the roaches are gone.

Is the treatment safe around children and pets?

Products are applied by licensed technicians in targeted spots where roaches live and travel, not in open living areas. Children and pets may need to stay out of treated spots until the products dry. We will tell you how long that is.

Do I need to prepare before the visit?

It depends on the treatment. When preparation is needed, we send a prep sheet and walk you through each step before the service. Good sanitation before the visit improves results.

What if I still see cockroaches after treatment?

Some activity is normal for a short time. Roaches that touch the products get sick and wander out into the open. Numbers usually drop within days to a couple of weeks. If you still see a lot of activity after that, contact us and we will reassess and plan a follow-up.
